Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora MK F124 from Don Schnell

Its a shower not a grower! Hah it looks great but doesn’t put up a cluster of pitchers, just a few nice ones per rhizome section in my experience.

nice. not uncommon though, people have been selecting for better branching clones now.

This Sarracenia flava var. rubricorpora so far is even darker than my Sarracenia alata var. nigropurprea “Black Tube”

Mine have a lot more veining. Not sure why.

As they get more of a sun tan and get darker with age the veining gets blotted out.

I guess mine is missing a bit of light. some pitchers remain veined only. I put it where it gets around 7 hours of sunlight. I guess that's not enough.

Love the red blush on the flower too!

So here's a question for the group, what causes red tubes to fade?

Don’t believe I have had that experience of tubes fading, mine just keep darkening as they age. What exactly are you having happen?

Might be because mine are in gh? Things don't colour up the best in my green house, but they started the year very promising.

But now they're faded

Now not so much

I have family in hydroponics and aquaponics nothing is quite the same when grown in a greenhouse unfortunately. Tomato’s, lettuce, strawberries, all taste like water, herbs have half the flavour but greenhouses do give you a much longer growing season!

My family is also why I’m a adamant outdoor grower.

I agree that outside produce is the best. Although the winter cherry tomatoes and strawberries from Ontario are very good these days. Herbs do seem to be ok grown inside.

Took a picture just now to show the difference

All of those with a blush once we're very red indeed

And this was a nice autropupurea

Now it's rather drab

Strange one, the fading tubes, I have never seen them change from red to green before, they normally get more colour as the season progresses, even in the GH. The ony time anything gets greener is a lack of light, but if that were the case it wouldn't have started off red. Genetics?
