Grown on my window sill, LFS with grushed Garnet on top to keep gnats away.

Was wondering how much pot space longifolia need? Got a small 3in net pot & glass that I’d love to repot em in to show off the traps, but I’m unsure if they’d become too “root bound” (stolon-bound?).

They need very little medium, if any. I used to grow a lot in a thin layer of aquarium gravel moistened by water draining out of Nep pots.

I'm trying to figure out what went wrong with our U. Longifolia.. I moved it to a new tray which is under very bright lights fertilized it with some 50 ppm orchid fertilizer and it's leafs did this...

I'm assuming it is just burn from the lights but someone suggested a fungal grow??

Not sure but I know it seems to grow vigorously without any fertilizer in plain gravel (water draining through pots with peat).

I believe those marks are just from the change in lighting. Mine gets it sometimes too but it doesn't seem to affect the plant. I also periodically spritz it with orchid fert or maxsea depending on what's in my spray bottle.

I'll take a photo of my leaves later today but here's a photo of a flower that just opened recently. I grow it in one of those clay orchid pots with holes in pure sphagnum moss and water frequently.

The funny thing about U. longifolia is that if you try to grow it intentionally, it doesn't really grow well. If you don't want it there, it will take over and invade every pot it can reach.

Hi for me i don't grow in water trays, only in well drained pots or tubs, found in my grow area they don't do well in to much water ,seems to like it a bit dryer medium ,not sure if it will work for you ,may be worth a try ?

I only got it to grow well by throwing it on some somewhat moist gravel. Went crazy but never did well on purpose.

Adding another longifolia picture, got the plants from Carson, growing in a small pon mesh pot mostly submerged in water with just sphagnum as medium, very aggressive grower, needs to contain it

That is great to see! Thank you for sharing your plant It seemed so strange and I was worried about a fungus or bacteria infection.
