In my experience Utricularia sect. Orchidioides can be a bit fussy overall. In my care most of them prefer cool nights and warm days. They seem to vary wildly in their moisture requirements with ones like U. campbelliana needing quite open mixes so it doesn't get water logged vs. U. humboldtii which I have growing in a floating algae mat that I have been cultivating for more than 10 years. For me, U. praetermissa simmply does not do well waterlogged. Once I start getting slime growing on the LFS, it is too broken down for it. I have to repot in fresh. When I have it growing well, which is not often, it seems to hangout in the lightest layers of the living sphagnum. I no longer try to grow that one with any aggregate. Good luck with it, it is worth it!
