Shocking news - some carnivorous plants are no longer allowed for import(?)

The permit application process is also much more involved and complicated. I'm very sad because Drosera and Utricularia are two of the wonderful carnivorous plants I love. I'd always recommend people to go through the troubles and efforts to import plants legally, however I think these changes doesn't help but force some people to purchase plants without permit and risk the lives of the plants...

It seems that the list was last updated 2017-05-19. So if you were since able to get permits for Drosera and Utrics (eg. 2018 to 2020), then it should also be the case now.

It would appear that Drosera, Utrics etc were never on the list dating back to its inception. If they were, then they would have been listed as being removed in the list of ammendments (see link on that page). Nevertheless, it does seem strange that they would have issued permits for those species if they weren't on the list. I would just go ahead and apply with the desired plants and see what happens

Seeds are always fine. Nobody ever checks. You aren't allowed to import possible pest seeds but I'm sure nobody here would do that.

Hello everyone, few helpful people have given me more information regarding this "change".
It seems that it is possible to import Drosera and Utricularia, but each species has to be applied & approved individually - obviously the more "invasive" ones will unfortunately not allowed.
I am still waiting to find out more regarding the currently processing application, so nothing solid yet. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for keeping us updated Willy!

Hello everyone, thanks for the help and support! I finally have the import permit approved. Had to make some changes and long story short there are exception plants that are not allowed, but most of the Drosera and Utricularia speices are still fine!!! :)

Heard drosera capensis is considered a pest so maybe they decided not to have it exported about the world
