Purpurea are super common throughout Newfoundland, I was very impressed by the range of conditions they they grow in!
These pictures are from the second week of October. I didn't find any Drosera species, perhaps they had already gone dormant and tucked away.
Found several small plants right on the Southwest shores of the ocean
Lots of large specimens growing along the Trout River Pond trail. They are growing on a slope with rain and snow melt constantly flowing through.
A Pinguicula Vulgaris. Found just a couple little ones growing on rocks with water trickling over them.
This Purp is growing on top of a log, maybe a foot off the ground!
In the Tablelands. Super inhospitable conditions for most plants but there were plenty of purps to be found at the lower elevations. Water can be heard trickling below the surface layers of shattered mantle rock.
