From time to time I get liverworts popping up in my carnivourous plant pots. I usually just let them grow, do their thing as they never take over and they look interesting. This is the first time I seen one produce little Gemmae wading pools.

I believe they release spores from these openings.
No, those are air pores that this moss uses for breathing. Marchantia polymorpha releases spores from little starl-like/umbrella strucures (gametophores). Male ones have a small disc on top with spores underneath.
This is one of the few mosses I prefer to remove from pots. Those splash cups are too efficient.
 
I love those little baby palm tree looking guys! I love bringing them home in plants I get from commercial growers, but I haven't been able to keep them alive at home yet.... Then again, I've only tried keeping them outside (north facing, shaded yard). Next season I'm bringing some inside!!
