How to Post Photos

The new forum makes posting photos much easier!

You no longer need to use a third party host to post picture, although you are still able to.

To upload an imagine straight to the forum you do not use the image post button (Next to the smiley face), you use the "Upload a File" button below the text box

From here you have three options.
1- Leave it just as a file attachment, which leaves all images attached at the bottom and each imagine needs to be opened to view. Example.

2- Check Thumbnail, which leaves the photo inline with the text and can be clicked and expanded.

3- Check Full Image, which will leave a full image inline with your text.

Some things to note: There is a 10 photo limit per post and each photo is limited to 5100kb

The second option for uploading photos is the original method of uploading photos to an external web host and linking them with this button.

....I LOVE THIS POST!!!! But aghhhhhh, the irony just kills me!!! My son dumped his drink all over the comp a couple of days ago, rendering my 3 year plant photo history extinct (if anyone knows a good data recovery place I would be VERY interested), I lost a LOT of pics! I'm on a new comp now and don't have a single pic on the hard drive and definitely do not want to use a third party. Hence, no avatar...

Hey Gabe, if the issue with your computer is it not powering on, your hard drive should still be good. If you drive down and give it to me I'm sure I can back it up for you at no cost.

Most likely the data on the old computer is still fine, like Justin suggested.
See if anyone near you could lend you a hand, otherwise, send me your old hard drive and I can try it out for you for free.

Personally, I use a sabrent connector with power source which can be purchased cheap on either Ebay or Amazon.

I'm not sure if this is the place to post this but I'm having intermittent problems posting photos, and I've had the problem on different computers. Sometimes it will load okay and I can select post thumbnail or full image, other times the only option is delete. I've tried resizing the photo and saving it in different sizes and different places on the hard drive but it seems once it's decided it's not posting a particular photo it just won't post it. Luckily I was able to upload the screen shot.

Hi Dave, Im just wondering about the file size being that anything over 5.1 megabytes will not post. Depending on which email provider you use, you can sometimes bypass photo editing with a simple copy and paste in order to reduce its size. Even though I have numerous applicatiuons, Corel, Adobe, etc, I always use Outlook as a shortcut method of reducing file size before copying the image for a post. Also, some firewalls will restrict a new open connection for posting unless a new rule for the site is added. Since its only a jpg, I doubt it has anything to do with your computer or operating suite.
