Hello all, I've been meaning to share some photos of my carnivorous collection all in one thread for a while now, so here they are :)

I have a small collection consisting of Nepenthes, VFTs, Drosera, Heliamphora and more, expect to see photos of all of them here!

First off, here are my growlist and wanted list, so if you have something I'm looking for or are interested in some plants I have, feel free to contact me and we can work something out ;)

Let me start off with one of my favourite nepenthes in my collection right now, N. "veitchii bario" striped x "H"

It has a nice basal too, I will probably cut it soon

What does the "H" stand for? Highlander form? Really nice photos of your plants. Very clear. What are you using to take photos?

Lol I honestly have no clue, I got this plant from Cole a few years ago and it was labelled "H" when I got it as a teeny weeny seedling. I'm using a simple macro set up with an old Canon 500D camera and 60mm 2.8f USM lens. Oh and also a flash.

Could it be the name of the grex? I've seen some that are named with just one letter like the ones spoken about here ('k' and 'm' and 'h'). It seems that they use the name Pink Candy Cane for veitchii (h) in this article.

yup I saw that article too, it was a very interesting read! Apparently, it originated from EP and was the same parent as "K"

K is the non-striped grex while H is the striped I believe
 
Soon everything will be singular letters with x's inbetween and nobody will remember what they represent.

I absolutely love these plants, they look like little palm trees! I've found them to be slightly more delicate than the other species, and I've only got 4 mature plants from last year's gemmae sowing. Hopefully, they produce some good gemmae soon so I can have a small army of them :cool:

The fused traps are only unfunctional during late summer to fall, when the traps are extremely deformed as you can see in the photos above, normally during springtime, it can look like just any normal fly trap except for maybe a couple of fused teeth, and those traps are fully functional.

Here's a photo of one of the early summer trap on this plant catching a fly

Collected some D. Stelliflora gemmae today, I only took the ones that come off easily when I poke it with a toothpick, still got lots left on the plants.

I used the ones I collected to fill in the gaps in the pot, hopefully, it grows in nicely

In a week or so, I'll probably collect the rest and put them up on sale for anyone who wants to try at growing these guys
