Willy's health update

Very very Happy to hear this Willy! You're doing great! Keep going soldier!

Still praying for a full recovery. We don't talk much anymore because I know you are resting :). I miss it! Please don't hesitate to hit me up whenever ok?! :)

Merry Christmas buddy!

Hi everyone!
It has been more than 2 years since my stage 4 cancer, I started to feel sick since spring 2021.
I have been through 10 cycles of Chemo, BMT and 25 sessions of Radiation, spent a good number of days in the hospital, got a few minor surgeries done and went through countless of needle-pokings and medical appointments.
It's not all-over yet but I'd like to share a wonderful news with you:
The latest scan shows that the treatments seem to have worked, and that no cancerous or suspicious activities detected! Yeah! It's like having a massive timer bomb in the chest, and finally it is defused.
It still feels unreal, and everything is like a dream to me. You'd think I may be jumping up and down and hugging everyone I see, but it's a strange mixed feeling. You see, I have the fear that I would wake up in any second, and I'd still be in the ICU with life support systems plugged into me like back in 2021, or worse. I guess we all have our demons to deal with, I will try to stay positive.
Anyway! I will have regular checkups with oncologists and still have like 4 more vaccine appointments in 2 years. I have to deal with some temporary or permanent side effects like memory loss, weak body, loss of voice, etc... Finger crossed that my health conditions will continue to get better though!
Hoping that 2024 would be a better year for me to slowly recover. It's still a long way ahead but I am glad that I have your support and prayers. Some of you send me the sweetest cards and gifts, thank you! It definitely helps to have a great hobby & community. :)
Willy

PS:
If you are going through a rough path, know that you don't have to walk alone. There are people who may share the similar experience like you that you can support each other, and know that God loves you no matter what. My faith helped me getting through the worst parts, it kept me going. There are support groups, forums, resources out there for you!
There are people who you expected to care and help you when you are in-need, but sadly, they won't. Don't be discourage by that, because there will be unexpected people who show up and be there for you! My new good friends are better than family, I wouldn't trade them for anything.
It's hard to really understand how cancer may affect you unless you have went through it yourself. It's not easy, I can tell you that.
Always have a rainy fund for yourself & your loved ones because it comes in handy when something happens. Even though many things are covered by our lovely Canadian medical plan, there are things that simply aren't! I can't imagine how to survive these years without my savings. Be prepared!
If you have questions about cancer experience or life in general, send me a message. I have helped a few people by sharing my tips and tricks during Chemo & other procedures already!

Awesome news man! I haven't really talked to you on this forum but i've been following this story for a while. It's great to hear that you've made it!. And i can assure you, this isn't a dream, this is the real deal. :)
