Well I was doing some research the other day and realized there are carnivorous plants in my area, Vancouver Island. BC. Drosera rotundifolia, Drosera x obvata. Drosera anglica, Pinguicula vulgaris, Utricularia minor, Utricularia gibba, Utricularia macrorhiza and Fuller’s Teasel in my area. This is my search to find them all and more.

I used to deliver pizzas in Langford 22 years ago.
sure looks different when I pass through there occasionally now :O
all those western communities are sure huge !
Find anything near Witty's lagoon in the bog areas? the fresh water areas might be promising.
If not, at least you get to go hang out there :)

Swan lake. Sannich. Vancouver island. Bc.

Wasn’t really expecting much for cp’s here but I felt like a walk and thought I would check to see if any Utricularia Were flowering here. It’s a nasty urban mess but it’s good for keeping the masses occupied and away form other sensitive areas.

I love the photos of bogs. When I'm back in town (unknown..) we should join up and go bogging!

We finished work early the other day so I went exploring. I'll be adding photos myself to the post I started the other day. Found some pretty cool sphag, green, red, yellow, and one that was almost black! Thats how dark red majenta purple it was. I'm not sure if the photos do it justice..

If your gonna find sundews then your definately headed it the right direction. There would likely be s. Purpurea too if its untouched, as they are easier to see and easier for poachers to find. Sundews are hard to find, they can be so tiny at this time of year, and are often hidden under other plants growing on floating logs. Thats where i always find them. Good luck!

I always have my eyes out for darlingtonia, thinking it's probably the only pitcher I might see.. purpurea, irrc, are only on the east side of the Rockies in bc. And, darlingtonia are not this far north :(

Have to Google Angelica. .

I have seen unknown spp pinguicula before, was a very coastal location. Almost 10 years ago now...
