Exchange

Please message WillyCKH for more details.
Donation
The CPSC Seed Bank relies on donations to continue the operations. Any seed donation and monetary support is much appreciated.
Donation Credits
Donation Credits can only be earned by donating a set amount of seeds. Each credit allows the member to exchange for one packet of available seeds, common or rare. The current ratio of donation per credit is 10 approved packets to 1 Donation Credit (one seed packet = 0.1 credit). Donation Credits can be accumulated, they do not expire, and there is no minimum number of packets per donation.
Incentive Bonus
Members will be awarded with double donation credit of a new type of carnivorous plant seeds that the CPSC Seed Bank currently does not have available; max 10 per type for double rate (one seed packet of new type= 0.2 credits, for the first 10 of each new type).
Other Carnivorous Plant items
CPSC Seed Bank also accepts other carnivorous plant items such as: gemmae, tubers, hibernacula. They will be treated as special items. In case of the items expiring their shelve-lives soon, giveaways or special sales will be held for these perishable items. When donating special items, please provide storage instruction and recommended shelve-life.
Non-Carnivorous Plant seeds
Donation of non-carnivorous plant seeds is welcomed, however it cannot redeem any Donation Credits.
Checking the Donation Credits
Members can check their available credits on the Donation Credits page. Please note that pending credits may not be updated until the donation or order is processed.
Monetary Support
Monetary donation will be fully directed paying for upkeep, further improvements of the Seed Bank.
Donation Process
Packing
Members do not have to pack the packets on their own, but are much encouraged to do so. Packing the seeds on your own will greatly reduce the processing time and allow Donation Credit(s) added to you sooner.
This is an example of how to fold a paper envelope for storing seeds:
Seed packets should have their ID written in the front, and the donating member’s name in the back. The Seed ID may be shortened but it should be clear to identify.
Example seed packet:
Mailing
To donate seeds, members simply mail the seeds in folded envelop(s) to the Seed Bank manager. The seeds can be mailed via regular mail, or padded mail if the seeds are possible to be damaged during transportation.
Members should include their CPSC Member Name, email address on a paper in the mail, along with clearly labelled Seed ID(s), and harvest date. Including as much information as possible will help us sort and storage the seeds.
Processing
The Seed Bank manager will 1) evaluate the donating seeds, 2) pack the seeds into small packets (if it is not done already), and 3) assign donation credit to the member. This process may take up to few weeks or longer, please have patience.
Evaluation
Different seeds have different germination rate, shelf-life and availability. The following table has the suggested minimum number of seeds per packets.
The table is mainly for reference only:
Storage
Seed packets will be stored in a mini-fridge, maintaining around 4°C until they are requested. Most seeds will not be kept longer than 3 years to ensure the freshness of seed packets. There are exceptions: for example, Nepenthes seeds will not be stored in the fridge because they require warm storage, and they will be discarded much sooner than the others.
Structure
The CPSC Seed Bank is operated by volunteers, who are not being paid to contribute their times and efforts.
Roles
CPSC Seed Bank overseer: @H2O
CPSC Seed Bank manager: @WillyCKH
