Oh my god haha cant even fit in his body lol. Yesturday i witnessed two water snakes fighting over a frog lol. I thought they were mating at first, then i realized they were biting each others heads and there jaws were locked onto one another. All of a sudden a frog leg popped out there were thousands of frogs and they were frighting over one while others literally swam past them haha

Almost the same story here! I was two slow to take the picture of the second snake trying to steal the goldfish. Impressive they can wrestle a fish that large out of the pond. That gold fish was 4 inches.

I've been letting more of our property go back to meadow rather than mowing the whole lot and the increase in the number of snakes is surprising. Only garter snakes so far but they're a very blue morph. I can usually find one hiding under the squash leaves in my garden.

And the worse is that those goldfish are totally oblivious to the menace. They are not aware of the danger and will go near the snake. I had racoons and even heron come to pick on my gold fish in my pond so now I do not put fish any longer.

You could put some netting fence around your pond to prevent the snakes from going near it.

I had a big pot with water plants. However the skunks went crazy and savaged the plants. It was much worse if there were any fish or snails in the water.
