Sand

I am looking for sand to use for tuberous sundews but i cannot find any coarse silica sand locally, and the internet is saying conflicting things about other sand. So i got some sand form a nearby river but im not confident that it will be safe. And i dont want to use perlite because it will make finding the tubers a nightmare.

I think it should be fine because i let it soak in water overnight and tested it. The tds read 35 ppm (the water i used had a tds or 30ppm straight out of the tap) and ph was between 6.8 and 7.

It's too fine. I wouldn't use it. I used to use fine sand and the plants never thrived. You can pretty well buy 12-16 grit everywhere. You don't need much and you recycle it forever.

Best place is a pool supply store.
It's used in pool filters, coarse sand #12

I use some on my Drosera omissa and they have been growing in it for a few years without problems. I've also used it as a top dressing.
