preventing pests?

Seedling
Lost about 1/2 my plants today when I found the wildlife had feasted on my bog. They ate my purpea, scattered my flytraps, ate all my sundews, all my cobra lillies, threw my triantha across the yard... It's a really hard sight to see. Everything is flattened now, barely anything is left of the plants that are alive.

I don't have an option to grow all of my outdoor plants inside. Any ways to keep the critters away? I believe it was a squirrel or raccoon as it ate my drosera entirely but only nibbled the pitchers clean off everything else. I can't take another hit like this :(

This time of year is nesting season for squirrels and they go insane, ripping up vegetation. They demolished my Sarr's and other plants, years ago; it was traumatic. The only solution is chicken wire on the sides and top and securely anchored to the ground so they can't tunnel. Best to have the wire go about 6" underground. Anything else, will not work and you will be disappointed.

Oh my! I had no idea they would tunnel to get to stuff like that. Thankfully I believe we have a large amount of chicken wire handy. Thank you for this advice!

I'm not sure about deep tunnelling but they will dig and struggle to get under nets. Best to be safe with your hard earned plants.
