Mistletoe

Well, I was bored today and the sun was out, so I ventured out into the garden. Still bored I thought I’d update the mistletoe. As you can see it’s now very substantial and making a lot of berries, so I’m hoping that the locale will get some transported by the birds. Time will tell.

With squirrels, you have to enclose the whole grow area and plant in chicken wire. Fabric and netting won't help. The slightest space will allow squirrels to go through. They will sacrifice skin and fur to get into small crevices.

I agree about squirrels, I think chicken wire is too cheap and breakable for most tasks. 1/2 inch landscaping fabric is stiff and sooo durable.

I have read that squirrels hate human or dog hair…. soooo I am going to prevent the squirrels from eating the corn I intend on growing this summer. I can report back what I have learned in regards to mulching with hair. If you don’t have much hair, you could ask a barber!!

It won't work. I've tried everything that "prevents" squirrels. Nothing works. Also you need a lot of corn or it won't wind pollinate and you get tiny ears.
