Leaf Pullings for Propagating

What happens when you press a little bit to hard on an P. esseriana 'Giant' in winter rosette?

They explode.
I just tossed them in here for now, but I think I'll need to make another propagation cup for all these.

"I also discovered that like most Mexican Pinguicula, our native P . planifolia were capable of producing plantlets or pups from leaves that were very carefully removed from the mother plant and dipped in a rooting hormone (at the time I was using Rootone®)."

Can confirm it also works with temperate pings like P. macroceras. I have used the leaves from hibernacula when they are dormant in the same way as one would use succulent phase leaves from the Latin American pings. I have had success even without rooting hormone. I just made sure to peel it off in a way that the leaves retained some meristematic tissue.

I have seen it with Pinguicula grandiflora in vitro. The plants were active when I started the in vitro and last week I repotted the Ping in new media for in vitro and they were many hibernacula. I noticed the roots system is different with hardy Ping in vitro, the roots are stronger, darker and go deeper
