I might be mistaken, but normal untreated play sand works well for most soil mixes. It tends to be just slightly acidic, but the peat will drop the pH levels down anyhow.

If you mean you want instructions for mixing soil media for CP's:
Plain peat and perlite mixed 1:1 + rainwater to moisten will work for almost any CP's.
I would advise avoiding sand for now.

+1 on perlite, I forgot about sand and compaction issues.

What are your thoughts for coconut coir as alternative to sphagnum peat moss for venus fly trap and droseras??

Coir these days seems ok (not salty anymore) to mix with perlite. It seems to break down faster than peat.
