helis what is your prefered mix

Been growing helis for well a very long time, in that time have used many types of potting mixes, althought helis are not overly fussy with there media mixes, the ones i prefer now is peat & perlite, fine or medium perlite , and the ultra perference now is Akadama & perlite and small amount of akuma ,this mix takes the plants a slightly more time to get going , but once they do the take off big time, the Akadama and akuma is not cheap, benefits is its re-usable and now you can get the extra hard akadama .
im using akadama and perlite in all my neps as well now ,and top dress many of the cep pots as well ,with the new fertlization program as well the plants have never been stronger or growing faster and not biger but huge :)

I’ve only just started growing them, but I use a mix of 80% Sphagnum, 10% perlite, and 10% lava rock. They seem to like it so far.
