Glow in the dark mushrooms

Has anyone grown these? Are they easy to grow? Do you buy spores or the actual plant? Thanks. I saw these on national geographic and they looked so cool!

It will be a couple weeks, the local temperatures are pretty volatile for shipping. P. stipticus is the brightest and easiest to grow, so there are a few sources for it, but the other bioluminescent fungi aren't as bright or common.
Ah okay. I did a bit of research and i thought the species you have was different from the kits you buy but then i found out its the same. So that makes sense now. Cant wait! Thanks

Can you grow them with CP's? I bought a kit before I knew you had them. I haven't inoculated anything yet. That's this weekend's project (as well as find some branches to use).
I'm also hoping to find some of the ghost mushroom glowing species to try too.

Under the same lights, yes, but you would need wood in any container or enclosure in which you wish to grow them, and the CP would have to be able to tolerate the same conditions that favour the fungus. I doubt it would be difficult to have a few living together so long as they had their own spaces dictated by substrates and substrate dividers.

Here is a pic of how I start my cultures(left) and how they end up(right).

Neat! I cut some branches up last weekend, and I'm hoping to inoculate them this week. Should I keep them dark while they are capped (with wax) then put them in light when stuff starts to grow? Or can I put them in their final locations immediately?

I'll have to bug you about propagation later...
Thanks!

It would be best to immediately provide them with typical day/night light exposure for their circadian rhythm.

I have a few little mushroomy looking growths poking up! How long till they glow? Do they have to be a certain size or age?
