A carnivorous epiphytic bromeliad. Growing high in trees it draws in bugs by reflecting uv light. The investigating bugs are guided to the water stored near the centre of the plant by its slippery leaves.

My young Catopsis berteroniana is starting to show it’s dangerous side. Whoops! there’s the end of that ant

that ant looks like a monomorium minimum

Such a cool plant, It attracts light and almost appears to have glow when dark. In South America it’s nicknamed lampera de la selva (jungle lantern)
