The S. purpurea in my yard is extremely successful in luring insects to their deaths.
The pitchers fill up and wash out whenever it rains or I water the plant, but every time I check they're full of bugs again.
The plant's developing some beautiful colours in the summer heat too.
Drosera sp. “Lantau Island” caught its first bug. I lose focus about halfway through the timelapse since the fly was pulled into the center of the leaf much more quickly than I expected.
