Baby Sarracenia, dormancy or not?

Got this little guy at Canadian tire, it didn’t have a tag for the type but it was pretty cheap so I decided to go for it. I’m wondering if it is still young enough to skip dormancy under lights or if I should winter it outside in a cold frame. I’m pretty sure I’m in zone 8a?

It's probably has never been stressed. Could be inside for a winter. Maybe slowly expose to sun and take it in at night if the temperature drops below 10°C.

I keep my seedlings inside under artificial light for at least 2 years, more for those who are small like yours. I think the normal pattern with dormancy is more important for adult mature sarracenias that would bloom. Also if you keep it inside, it would be better to feed it some maxSea at 1/4 of the dose in its little pitchers, since it would not eat insects.

Ok thanks! Just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t going to confuse the plant too much.

Lol I bought one too.
Mine has been outside for a week now with new growth showing. And its leaves got more red from the sun.
I should bring it inside when the temp drops to much though.

In Vancouver you are lucky because you can keep them outside all year around. But those look like small seedlings, and they would benefit from staying inside during the winter under a good artificial light for another year or 2.
